#Day1 of the #internationalunitedmiss #PositivityProject
Q: How do you stay positive in a world with so much negativity?
The world is dramatic, and there are always people and situations that want to bring you down. However, with a system as strong as #ium , and the people I surround myself with, I have learned to celebrate being my authentic self.
I stay positive because I surround myself with people I love who will lift me up vs rip me apart and help me always look on the positive side and remain optimistic.
I can stay positive because I know that no matter where life takes me, my parents are there to remind me of what a leader I am, and that if I work hard, I can achieve anything. Not every kid has supportive parents, and it definitely helps to have someone there to remind you of your strength.
I stay positive because my twin brother won't allow me to ever feel less than worthy. He's my best friend, and he is always there to bring me up, and remind me that no one can make fun of me but him 😂
I stay positive for my baby sister, because I am her role model. She looks up to me, and it's my job to protect her, and make the world a sunshiny place, even when it seems stormy.
And last, but not least, I stay positive because I surround myself with positive people. Friends who support my crazy ideas, who will back me up, and always make me laugh.
#Day2 #ium #PositivityProject
Q: who inspires you the most?
This Is my amazing mom, Ashlie! She has always been my number one supporter, and never lets me give up on my dreams. ❤️ when I was little, she raised my brother and I by herself, and worked day and night so she could give us an amazing life, allowing us be able to do the things we loved. She's my best friend, my mom, my teacher, my coach, my former #internationalunitedmiss #sistersbysash and I don't know what I'd do without her! ☺️ I love you mom and thank you for all that you have done 💕.
#Day3 of the #IUM #Positivity project!!
Q: What are you grateful for?
I am so grateful for the amazing opportunities I have been given during my reign as the 2023 #IUMCTJrTeen ❤️ and being a part of the #internationalunitedmiss system.
From growing my foundation EmpowerKidshealth, to participating in parades with my #sistersbysash , being featured on the news multiple times, fundraising for Walk for Wishes, gathering donations for the Fostering Family Hope Foundation as well as joining them in their ribbon cutting ceremony, helping to grant a Make A Wish, and so much more, it has been so amazing to have been able to make a difference in the world, and in my community.
The Connecticut crown, the support of so many who have helped me, and the work I have put into growing my social media, have all helped to give me a platform to truly #beHEROIC 😁
In addition, I am so grateful for all those who have supported me to help my dreams come true!
#Day4 of the #positivityproject !!
Pay it forward...
While I make it my mission, as your #iumctjrteen , to always #beHEROIC and give back to my community, today, I wanted to make people in my community feel good by leaving these for others around town to let them know they are amazing, doing great, and in hopes it would brighten someone's day 😎❤️! I know it makes me feel more confident to receive a compliment, and wanted to make people feel the same
#day5 of the #positivityproject
-Comment on 10 posts with words of encouragement!
Sending words of encouragement can make people feel special and amazing 😍 along with brightening their day ❤️ It was so hard to only post ten comments as so many people out there are doing so many amazing things to make a difference and be #heroic !! And thank you to my #sistersbysash who left words of encouragement ☺️ it made my day 💖
#day6 of the #positivityproject
Applaud the accomplishments of another, give them a shout out!
I wanted to take this time to give a major shout out to #sistersbysash because they are all absolutely amazing. But today, I wanted to give it a special shout out to @iumfloridajrteen Mariah!
She holds a wonderful zoom get together called Crown Church, that brings so much positivity into the lives of girls every Monday at 6pm as they get together for a devotional and can hang out and talk about their faith or what's on their mind.
While I am spiritual, I'm not very religious, but I attended Crown Church to support my sister queen, and I am so very glad I did! Mariah is so sweet and was so inclusive of me being there. I cannot wait to hang out and spend time together at internationals!!
Mariah I hope your day was amazing and that Crown Church continues to grow! You have such a wonderful heart. I'm so proud to be your #sisterbysash
#Day7 of the #positivityproject !!
Give words of encouragement to someone who needs it ❤️
It is nearing the end of #pridemonth and I felt this would be the perfect opportunity to spread words of encouragement to anyone who feels in need of support.
Regardless of whether you are a teenager, or an adult, you deserve love! And my words of encouragement today are to keep being yourself. Never apologize for who you are and who you love, and know that if you need someone to talk to, or need an honorary sister to cheer you on, I am here.
You are needed on this earth. You are amazing. Please never forget that!
Because I use my platform to raise awareness and educate on important topics... Some food for thought on just a few reasons why #prideheroes are needed... Did you know that 65% of lgbtq+ youth experiencing homelessness had lived in foster homes or group homes, and that 39% of those teenagers had been forced to leave their homes because of who they were and who they love?
There are so many teenagers who are in the foster care system who were left by their families during a time they needed them the most.
The #lgbtqcommunity needs allies. They need to be treated like anyone else... with compassion and love and understanding.
We are all people. Spread love 💖
#Day8 of the #IUM #positivityproject
What is your favorite quote?
Perfect for #tellmemoretuesday
Don't ya think?
"The only limit to the height of your achievements, is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them" -Michelle Obama
This has been a meaningful quote to me since I was about 9 years old. It was even the first line of my pageant introduction when I competed as an IUM preteen!
This quote has so much meaning to me. I have struggled with many things and at times wanted to give up, I thought if I didn't understand it right away I would never get it. But I didn't give up I realized if I want it I'm going to do it and it paid off! 😁 my journey wasn't over but it would end if I gave up and I didn't want it to...
my willingness to work for my goals got me a year ahead in school, over a 4.0 GPA and I'm able to take college courses at only 14! If my youngerself could see me now they would never believe how far we have come❤️
#Day9 of the #ium #positivityproject
Give a shout-out to a titleholder from another system.
I want to take a moment to shout out one of the most amazing titleholders, @thebaileysheridan
Bailey is not only an amazing brand ambassador for the @internationaljuniormiss system #ijm and the #iampowerhouse but is also such a wonderful inspiration to me. She always gives her all, never gives up, keeps working hard to achieve her dreams, and reaches for the stars. She lights up the stage, lights up a room, and she's so humble. I absolutely love hearing her sing (she's got an amazing talent) and watching her work the stage.
Keep being you Bailey! You are so #iumamazing and I'm so proud to be your #sistersbysash
Day #10 of the #ium #positivityproject
Q: who is the most positive person you know?
5 year olds are probably the most honest people you will ever meet. They tell it like it is. But they are also some of the most positive too.
My baby sister is the most positive person I know. When you are sad she says something so blunt it's hysterical and you can't not smile. If she falls. She gets right back up. She never stops trying and her persistence is admirable.
There's never something that can't be fixed with a cupcake or a cookie. Her laughter is contagious and she gives the warmest hugs.
She's sassy and sarcastic and she is probably the only person I know that can make a milkshake out of lemons because "lemonade is still sour and we don't do sour. We do happy. And there's nothing not happy about a milkshake".
I love her enthusiasm for life, her bravery, and her love for always trying new things.
#Day10 of the #positivityproject
I just had to do a second post for the #positivityproject today to honor my amazing big sister queen @num_newengland_teen 👑💕
Our sisterhood began when I was the CT preteen for #IUM and helped me learn the ropes of what being an #iumctjrteen is all about. Thank you Kaitlyn for being there for me, always being positive , making me laugh, and reminding me that life is hard work and to never give up on my dreams.
She truly inspires me with her loving heart and positive attitude 🥰
#Day11 of the #positivityproject
Pay it forward twice 😄
Today I wanted to do something for my neighborhood and the kids that live around us so I decided to make an obstacle course for one pay it forward, and then write words of positivity for the second 🤩
My little sister, Melody, was my demonstration for the obstacle course, and was my designer for it as well. Thank you @mellie_tiny_gymnast for helping me out 💕
I hope the kids in the neighborhood and parents enjoy this as much as we did 😁
#day12 of the #ium #positivityproject
Q: Give a shout-out to a charity that makes a difference
@fosteringfamilyhope is an #iumamazing organization and charity that brings humanity back into the foster care system. It assists foster parents, providing them with basic essentials and encouraging the growth of positive relationships.
#fosteringfamilyhope recently opened a physical location in my town, available by appointment.
I have been fundraising for fostering family hope for months, and it has been an amazing experience to be a part of something so important.
Here is their website and some more information on how they make a difference in our community!
#day13 of the #ium #positivityproject
Q : what song makes you happy?
The song that makes me the happiest is poor unfortunate souls from the little mermaid. Ursula is definitely a misunderstood character. Hear me out... she literally sang an entire song about what the consequences were going to be if Ariel signed the contract and didn't fulfill the stipulations. She might have left out a few pieces of information like turning herself human to interfere to ensure that SHE HERSELF would have her end of the contract the way she wanted it... but she also didn't NOT warn her first either soooooooo...
Ursula has so much soul in her character. The evil laugh is just amazing to play.
Listening to the song and hearing her passion as well as singing it and feeling the character in my soul is just #iumazing
Thank you @officialrockhouseschool
Ms Lauren for putting up with my shenanigans when I want to channel my inner villain.
